General Purpose

Creates menus and prepares food. Determines appropriate type and quantities of food to be prepared.  Purchases necessary ingredients and supplies to prepare meals.

Responsibilities

• Ability to prepare and serve food in a timely manner following proper food handling/preparation regulations and guidelines.


• Maintenance of guest schedules and preparation of menu for meal sheets.


• Knowledge of appropriate food quantities given estimated guest attendance.


• Ability to determine amount and type of food in adequate time for preparation.


• Purchasing of necessary ingredients and supplies to prepare meals.


• Orders food and snacks, paper products and other products pertaining to kitchen.


• Keeps dining area and kitchen clean, sanitary and orderly.  This includes the washing of dishes, cleaning of equipment and general housekeeping duties.


• Other duties as assigned
   

Requirements

• High School diploma; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Knowledge of federal, state, and local governmental regulations pertaining to food handling and preparation.


• Valid driver’s license.


• Ability to lift/unload food and supplies


• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely.
   

Preferences

• Training and experience in cooking for large groups.


• First Aid, CPR & AED certification and blood borne pathogen training
