Camp Hooksett- Counselor

Are you looking for the Best Summer Job Ever? Do you want to be a role model, build your resume and make a difference this summer? YMCA Day Camp of Hooksett, a traditional outdoor summer day camp for children ages 5 to 13 located at Hooksett Memorial School, is seeking energetic, fun-loving counselors to help campers build relationships, try new things, make memories and have fun while ensuring camper safety and being positive role models of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Camp Hooksett is seeking Counselors and Jr Counselors!

Responsibilities:   

• Build positive nurturing relationships with campers   
• Build cooperative relationships with coworkers, supervisors and parents   
• Lead and participate in a variety of camp activities – arts & crafts, STEM, active games and more   
• Engage positively in camp life in a variety of weather and locations – indoors, outside, aquatics area, in the rain, summer heat, and beyond!   
• Engage with campers in a way that fosters Character building   
• Uphold the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage  

Qualifications:  

• Experience working or volunteering with youth in a recreation, or similar setting, preferred   
• Must be willing and able to obtain CPR & First Aid Certifications, or currently hold   
• Must be available to attend camp trainings before and throughout camp season   
• Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work 

Position Specifics:   

• Camp season runs 06/23/2025 through 08/15/2025 and must be able to work most of the camp weeks 

YMCA Day Camp of Hooksett, Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications and attend pre-camp training and orientation.
