Campaign Researcher - Start Now

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Campaign Researcher for our client, a highly impactful nonprofit organization focused on racial justice! This is a full-time, remote, and contract opportunity.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stay updated on current events pertinent to ongoing campaigns and issue domains via various media channels including print, broadcast, and online platforms.
• Formulate strategic recommendations grounded in research to bolster campaign development and advance departmental and organizational objectives.
• Conduct thorough research on candidates, officials, corporate entities, ballot initiatives, and legislative matters, drawing from a wide array of public and private resources such as databases, media outlets, financial records, regulatory documents, court records, and interviews.
• Take charge of devising and executing research plans by translating broad inquiries or emerging topics into actionable plans, proposing necessary project resources, and overseeing project completion. This involves overseeing external research consultants and contractors when necessary.
• Apply research findings to produce internal and external written materials and visual presentations such as strategy decks, funder reports, website content, campaign materials, and reports. Collaborate effectively with design and other relevant teams to ensure accuracy and impact.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience of working in issue campaigns or grassroots organizing
• BA/BS degree preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, including fact-checking.
• Exceptional organizational skills, and adept at managing multiple priorities.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in sensitive matters.
• Constructive optimism towards achieving incremental progress.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment while managing a high volume of tasks.

 
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
