Can Operation Laborer -Taunton (Quality Beverage)

Description

Position Overview: 

The Can Operation Laborer is responsible for unloading all pick-up trailers, making sure recycling operations are completed daily and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Accountabilities:

• Unload cans on all pick-up trailers
• Check daily bid sheets to confirm pick-up loads running daily
• Check condition of pick-up trailers returning to plant
• Ensure that all glass products are removed from pick-up vehicles by forklift operator
• Oversee and participate in all phases of recycling including unloading, bailer operation, and cleanup operations
•  Oversee the storage and shipping of aluminum, plastic, and cardboard bails
• Nightly equipment and work area cleanup
• Weekly cleanup of pick-up equipment

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: To perform at a proficient level and be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:

• Ability to demonstrate effective use of safety rules including proper lifting.
• Ability to lift cases averaging 40 lbs.
• Ability to operate two-wheeled hand truck, occasionally pushing/pulling weights exceeding 60lb
• Forklift experience a plus, but not necessary

Education/Experience/Training:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Basic computer experience or knowledge a plus
• Must be able to read and speak the English language
