Captain / Engineer - Private 96ft Explorer Yacht

We are seeking a full time Captain / Engineer for a 96ft private Explorer Yacht built by Bloemsma Van Breemen.

The yacht has recently completed an extensive refit in Florida, including replacement of the main engines and generators, exterior painting and interior refurbishment.

The vessel is currently located at Palm Harbour Marina in Florida and will cruise between Florida and the Bahamas until summer. The itinerary will then continue north towards New England and Nova Scotia, with the possibility of exploring the Northwest Passage in the future.

This is a private exploration program with an extensive cruising itinerary, including remote destinations.

The owner is actively involved in the yacht's operation, has a strong technical background and values professionalism, communication and practical problem solving.

The yacht is professionally managed, and the Captain will work closely with the Yacht Manager and shoreside support.

The vessel will operate with three full time crew members, with the possibility of a fourth crew member due to the operation of a towed tender.

Requirements

• Minimum 200GT Captain certification required.

• Previous command experience preferred. Qualified candidates seeking their first Captain position will also be considered.

• Strong practical engineering knowledge and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

• Familiarity with Caterpillar engines and systems is highly desirable.

• Experience cruising in New England, Nova Scotia, high latitude regions or remote locations is an advantage.

• Experience with passage planning, vessel maintenance and crew management.

• Ability to operate in remote areas with limited technical support.

• Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.

• Practical and proactive approach to vessel operations.

• Interest in long range cruising and exploration.
