How you’ll contribute

A Cardiac Device Technician who excels in this role:

• Performs cardiovascular and vascular procedures, including monitoring diagnostic and interventional procedures, in accordance with the applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Operates specialized equipment used in diagnostic and vascular testing and therapeutic interventions performed in the Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab.
• Assists physicians during cardiac and vascular catheterization procedures.
• Scrubs at the tableside and monitors patients as assigned.
• Transports patients as necessary.
• Prepares equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements established safety standards and performs appropriate quality-control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Performs vascular and cardiac procedures involving the operation of imaging equipment.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation related to procedures and patient care.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Cardiac Device Technician who possesses strong technical abilities, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality cardiovascular care.

Applicants should be graduates of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology. Additional requirements include:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification or Registered Radiographer credential through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Thorough working knowledge of practices and procedures within a Cardiac/Vascular Cath Lab.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required within 90 days of employment if not current upon hire.
• One year of cardiovascular lab or special procedures experience preferred.
• Ability to perform vascular and cardiac procedures involving imaging equipment and assist physicians during catheterization procedures.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
