Job Description - Cardiac Rehabilitation RN or RRT, Full Time

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation Department!


This position works under the direct supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Manager. The Cardiac Rehabilitation person performs patient assessments, including testing, and also develops, implements, monitors and evaluates exercise programs for patients. The position communicates with patient's physicians as needed. This role works effectively with patients and patients' families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental and support personnel.  The Cardiac Rehabilitation person is responsible to meet all regulatory compliance and participates in the department’s performance improvement and continuous adherence to the quality program.



Major Job Duties & Responsibilities


Actively participates in quality program, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. 


Maintains organization of workload, department facility and workstation.


Maintains patient records and files, as appropriate. Provides accurate history and details of patient prior to program, each exam, procedure performed. Provides accurate documentation and charge capture of each exam, procedure performed.


Actively participates in departmental quality assurance program including preventative maintenance.


Regularly stocks and maintains inventory to appropriate levels for scheduled shift as well as the subsequent shift.


Completes appropriate forms and consent as required including billing department requirements physician requirements


Actively participates in updating and maintaining the department policy and procedure book.


Participates in staff meetings, educational in-services and department retreats.


Follows departmental policies and procedures.


Maintains audit goals including but not limited to charge, chart, budget, quality, and corporate compliance audits


Provides instruction to students who are fulfilling their clinical requirements at CPMC.


Conscientious of budget and works to minimize redundancies, errors, and waste, excessive costs and overtime. Maintains productivity and utilizes low census policy when appropriate.


Must provide administrative duties, as needed, in connection with the front desk responsibilities of the department – alongside or in the absence of the receptionist.


Must be able to perform duties in and maintain competencies outlined by hospital and department.


Patient advocacy and coordination of patient care both internally and with outlying facilities and providers and provide community and patient education within the scope of a Registered Nurse and/or assigned modality.



Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities


Must be able to function and excel in a team environment and relate positively and favorably to staff, patients, visitors, families, and physicians.


Must possess effective communication and writing skills.


Must possess computer skills in order to use e-mail, Word, Excel, Power Point, internet, electronic medical records, etc.


Must pursues continuing education in order to meet the requirements of licensure and self development.


Must be able to work well in situations of stress and able to work independently.


Must be willing to learn new procedures and techniques as Manager and Director see fit.


Must be ability and willing to provide community and patient education within the scope of Registered Nurse and/or assigned modality.


Must maintain working knowledge of cardiac disease and current treatment strategies.



Education Requirements


High school graduate and completion of an accredited nursing program with a current, unrestricted license in the state of Montana.


Preferably a BSRN with experience in exercise physiology and or cardiac rehabilitation.


Certification in Basic Life Support & Advanced Cardiac Life Support.



Experience


High school graduate and completion of an accredited nursing program with a current, unrestricted license in the state of Montana.

Certifications in Basic Life Support & Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
