Position Summary

Serve as a Health Care Professional with primary responsibility of patient focused echocardiography service providing high quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

• Obtains 2D and 3D echocardiograms with color and Spectral Doppler at the bedside and in Echo Lab.
• Perform Stress Echocardiograms and Dobutamine Stress echocardiograms as requested.
• Assist Cardiologist with TEE and Intracardiac Echo in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient.
• Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Assists in keeping the area completely stocked.
• Adheres to departmental rules and regulations while performing in a professional manner always.
• Report equipment problems to appropriate office leadership.
• Protect patients and employees by following infection-control policies and protocols.
• Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance at all times.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience

• HS Diploma or GED required
• RDCS or RCS required.
• Current and valid BLS/CPR Certification by the American Heart Association required.
• Experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, preferred.
• Competent in the operation of computerized systems, Athenahealth a plus.

The employee may need to travel to healthcare practices.
