Sidney Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Technician to support our Cardiopulmonary Services team. In this vital role, you will assist in caring for patients with heart and lung conditions under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs). You’ll help ensure a safe, comfortable, and efficient care environment for our patients, while upholding high standards of professionalism and ethics.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Treat all individuals with courtesy, respect, and professionalism.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient, staff, and hospital information.
Monitor and document patient vital signs in appropriate charting systems.
Complete and document patient in-takes in the Cardiopulmonary Clinic using the electronic medical record (EMR).
Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
Support testing and procedures, including equipment setup, patient preparation, and 6-minute walk tests.
Prepare and clean exam rooms and rehabilitation gym; ensure proper storage and disinfection of equipment.
Assist patients with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) such as oxygen tanks, delivery devices, walkers, and wheelchairs.
Perform EKGs (electrocardiographs) throughout the facility.
Observe and report changes in patient condition to RNs, RRTs, or providers.
Call patients regarding appointment reminders or general information (non-clinical).
Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
Adhere to departmental PTO request procedures and collaborate with supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Maintain knowledge of legal standards and compliance related to job duties.
Act in accordance with ethical, legal, and organizational guidelines; report any known or suspected illegal activity.
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred; on-the-job training and competency check-offs required.
Licensure/Certification:
Must complete an EKG Technician Certificate Program within 6 months of hire.
Must obtain Certified EKG Technician (CET) credential within 9 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; if not current at hire, must obtain within first month.
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training required
