Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Reid Health is seeking a skilled and motivated Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our established and growing cardiovascular program in Richmond, Indiana. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative, well-supported surgical team with an established cardiology service and a mature cardiovascular care program.

Our cardiovascular pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative programs are highly structured, providing an excellent foundation for delivering comprehensive, high-quality patient care. Our established cardiology service provides a consistent referral base for the surgical program.

Position Highlights

• Established cardiovascular program with a strong cardiology referral base.
• Mature and well-organized pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care processes.
• Dedicated Nurse Practitioner who manages post-operative patients throughout their recovery and serves as the first point of contact for admitted patients.
• Very limited overnight and weekend physician call volume, with NP support managing first call.
• Opportunity to perform approximately 100–130 total cases annually, with opportunities for continued program growth.
• Collaborative environment with an established cardiovascular team.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), surgical valve procedures, and TAVR.
• Provide comprehensive surgical care to patients throughout the perioperative process.
• Collaborate with cardiology and other members of the cardiovascular team to coordinate patient care.

Education/Experience

Board Eligible or Board Certified Required: Cardiothoracic Surgery

Licensure: Indiana Medical License

Certifications: Must maintain BLS/ACLS
