Case Mix: Cardiothoracic surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy/lung resection)

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes (must be credentialed at Saint Joseph Hospital)
Credentialing Timeline: 90-110 days

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
First assisting in CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy/lung resections; vein harvest; chest tube placement; surgical CT.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: Board Certification required
Licenses: Active KY License or willingness to obtain
DEA: Active DEA certification required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA
Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice history preferred; availability at time of name clear

Duties & Responsibilities

First assist in cardiothoracic surgeries including CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resections
Perform vein harvest and chest tube placement
Manage telemetry and ICU patients
Take night call (7p-7a) and weekend 24-hour call duties
Conduct inpatient rounds and surgical procedures during weekend coverage
