JOB SUMMARY
The Career Placement & Alumni Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that graduates of ANEW’s pre-apprenticeship programs successfully transition into employment, registered apprenticeship, and long-term career opportunities. The position owns ANEW’s graduate placement and retention strategy, with a goal to achieve 60%
employment/apprenticeship placement rate and support graduates in remaining employed and progressing in their careers for up to 24 months following graduation.
The position serves as the primary connection between ANEW graduates and employers, contractors, unions, registered apprenticeship programs, and other workforce partners. The position actively develops employment opportunities, prepares and connects graduates to those opportunities, identifies barriers that threaten employment or apprenticeship success, and coordinates appropriate interventions and supportive resources.
The position also leads the ANEW Alumni Group, creating an ongoing community through which graduates can access career support, professional development, networking, mentoring, employment opportunities, and advancement resources throughout their careers.
The Career Placement Coordinator is responsible for the successful placement and retention of ANEW program graduates into family wage careers, establishing and maintaining relationships with industry partners including labor unions, large and small companies, public entities, and any other organization that could potentially offer high-wage career opportunities, assisting department heads in understanding and meeting placement goals of funders, developing new and overseeing established professional networking and retention events like career fairs and speed mentoring, teaching clients how to successfully job hunt, and entering data into internal systems.

WORK LOCATION: ANEW Tukwila Training Center and Satellite locations as assigned. This position will include regular local travel.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Regular workweek is 40 hours, Monday through Friday, regular business hours are 8am-4:00pm. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Regular and extensive local daytime travel is expected.
REPORTS TO: Director of Programs
This position is classified as at-will, meaning either the employee or the employer may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or advanced notice
This position is paid as a non- exempt position with a starting pay range of $33.17 -$35.20 per hour.
*Years of experience must be directly related to this position.
BENEFITS
The person in this position is expected to serve a 90-day probation period. Benefits will not be included until and unless the position is made permanent, which is contingent upon performance evaluation, funding, board direction, and potential re-development of the organization and its training/service delivery models. If the position is more than 30/hours per week, employer paid medical benefits will include medical, dental, and vision benefits.
A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pre-tax contribution at time of payroll posting. Employees at 30/hours a week or greater qualify for full benefits and pay a pre-tax contribution of 20% of monthly premiums per month for employee coverage. Additional employer paid benefits include basic life insurance, vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay. ANEW also contributes a 4% match to a 401k after one year of employment. ANEW Employees will not be permitted to use paid vacation or sick leave until successful completion of their 90-day probationary period.
