Caregiver / Direct Support Professional

Description

Caregivers at Prospectus Berco are responsible for the supervision and support of adults with intellectual and other disabilities. The Individuals being supported may reside in a community home; attend a day services program; or participate in a vocational rehabilitation program. Caregivers assist individuals to live full lives and be active participants in the community with health, safety and well-being given the highest priority. Examples of duties include the following:

Assisting individuals to participate in social, recreational, education, work, and volunteer activities.

Assisting with developing and carrying out support plans for each individual.

Assisting individuals with personal hygiene, dressing, eating and other activities of daily living.

Requirements

Age 18 or older

Valid driver's license

High school diploma, GED, or willingness to complete GED

Previous work experience, and a work record that shows dependability

Personal characteristics of caring for others' wellbeing; reliability and responsibility; patience; creativity, and flexibility
