Job Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to achieve meaningful employment, greater independence, and active community participation. This position focuses on empowering individuals to reach their personal and professional goals while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build trusting, positive relationships and align individual needs with their goals.

• Act as a passionate advocate, empowering individuals to speak up for themselves.

• Identify opportunities for increased independence in work-related tasks.

• Ensure assigned work is completed efficiently and in accordance with employer expectations.

• Support individuals in following workplace policies and maintaining professional standards.

• Utilize adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate effective communication.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners such as case managers, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and family members.

• Provide off-site assistance including skills practice, transportation coordination, and counseling.

• Maintain organized schedules, monitor safety and well-being, and complete timely, accurate documentation.

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years.

• Ability to lift or provide physical support as needed, based on client requirements.
