Caretaker

Description

Nationwide Housing Corporation is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Caretaker/Housekeeper to maintain and support our residential properties in Shakopee, MN. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents. Duties include general cleaning, light maintenance, light groundskeeping, and supporting overall property upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean all common areas and the leasing office to ensure a tidy and professional appearance.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents by thoroughly cleaning appliances, cabinets, light fixtures, closets, blinds, heating registers, and other surfaces.
• Shampoo carpets
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of exterior grounds, including regular trash pickup.
• Keep sidewalks & parking areas neat and well-maintained; assist with snow and ice management of walkways.
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, batteries, furnace filters,  etc.
• Report any safety concerns or resident-related issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Complete required paperwork accurately, including service requests and timesheets.
• Maintain regular communication with property management.
• Be proactive in offering support to the team and assisting with additional tasks as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Maintain positive, respectful communication with residents to support strong community relations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to interact professionally and courteously with residents, vendors, and team members.
• Physically capable of lifting 25 pounds and being on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Previous experience in housekeeping, custodial work, or property maintenance is a plus.
