Job Description - Cargo Inside Sales Representative - Collaborative Environment

Inside Sales Representative

Great opportunity with company located near the DFW Airport seeking an entry level candidate that wants to learn about aviation and grow a career. Able to have a flexible schedule and availability to work weekends, holidays, and OT. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for spot quotations, making proactive sales calls, managing allocations and bookings. S/he performs opportunity management and customer retention in a team with Outside Sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Phone and email communication with customers for potential business
  • Completion of verbal discussions with customers back in writing
  • Ensure requested bookings of shipments compliant with regulations for all countries
  • Origin countries, transit countries, and destination
  • Submission of quotations per customer requests and meeting perimeters as outlined.
  • Ensure calculated for profitability compliance
  • Identify potential opportunities and communicate with management o When Customer indicates type of movements required
  • Follow up with customers on Quotations given o Anticipated ship dates o If unsuccessful, pricing difference, solicit feedback
  • Follow up with smaller customers on potentials and opportunities or find their niche
  • Finding right product for Customer Needs and upsell to next level when possible, or Transport timeline or Special handling requirements
  • Ensure load ability Checks completed on non-standard cargo with authorized agents for check
  • Assist in updates of customer information as needed in IT database
  • Actively promote eChannel usage in communications with Customer o eBooking and eAWB or other
  • Ensure manager advised when Customer’s non-performance issues below standard o Outline issues for management review and resolve
  • Quality Check of GHA duties when assigned or required or Report to management
  • Perform support duties as assigned or required Qualifications

Job essential functions:

Stand or Sit -Stationary position -Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

Walk Move - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access invoices, office machinery, etc.

The position requires constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a computer, calculator, copier, and printer.
