Job Description - Carpenter

As a Carpenter with CXT, Inc., you will be responsible for fabricating and installing wooden and other infrastructure products according to job specifications.


Responsibilities



  1. Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements

  2. Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed

  3. Cut, shape and smooth lumber

  4. Prefabricate window frames, and doors bucks

  5. Maintain inventory numbers and submit any material requisitions to management

  6. Work with a variety of carpentry hand tool and power tools or equipment

  7. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

  8. Maintain a clean and safe work area.

  9. Other duties as assigned


Experience, Education, etc.



  • High school diploma or equivalent; Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred

  • 2+ years of precast or construction experience required

  • 2+ years of previous experience as a carpenter required


Skills & Abilities 



  • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials

  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction

  • Great hand dexterity and an eye for detail

  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)

  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings

  • Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times

  • Understanding of English language both written and spoken

  • Understanding of basic math

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; bend/stoop throughout day
