Carpenter - Skilled Tradesperson

Location: Brownsville, TX

Pay: $25 - $35 per hour

About the Role

We’re seeking a reliable, safety‑focused Carpenter to support construction projects through precise layout work, material preparation, assembly, and general site operations. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, works well with tools and measurements, and thrives in a physically demanding environment.

What You’ll Do

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine layout, dimensions, and materials.
• Cut, shape, and prepare materials using hand tools, machines, and power saws.
• Measure and mark cutting lines using rulers, pencils, chalk, and marking gauges.
• Verify structural accuracy using levels, plumb bobs, and other alignment tools.
• Assemble materials using nails, dowels, glue, and other fastening methods.
• Safely operate a variety of tools including hand tools, power tools, bench tools, concrete saws, chippers, and sanders.
• Assist with additional site operations as directed by the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety regulations.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
• Capable of lifting and handling materials up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb, and crawl.
• Ability to correctly rig and hoist materials.
• Comfortable working at heights.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Willing to work long and irregular hours (50–70 hours per week).
• Consistent, punctual attendance in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards.
• Ability to safely perform all essential job functions while meeting productivity expectations.
