Description

  

SUMMARY 

The in-house Carpenter/Sr. Facilities Technician is responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry, including the ability to read blueprints, specifications, drawings and instructions to design cabinetry. Designs, construct remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall & tape, plaster, steel, concrete or brick including metal fabrication. Systems furniture design and installation hung ceiling layout and installation, interior partitioning frame to finish, flooring VCT tile, carpet tile subfloor and cove base installation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Maintains a clean work environment at all times and follows all necessary safety standards.
  • Performs all carpentry tasks including building walls, custom woodwork, cabinetry/mill work, installation of trim and moldings.
  • Installs drywall and joint compound finishes in all Bank facilities. 
  • Skilled in the operation and knowledge of power tools. 
  • Ability to review and measure for supply and material orders.
  • Reads and interprets plans and drawings for the independent execution of internal projects.
  • Maintain high quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to train others on site projects.
  • Assists Facilities Supervisor in prioritizing and coordinating daily activities for workers in department.
  • Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
  • Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses, installing new or repair old sump pumps and drain lines, repack or replace faucet, sill cock and water feed lines.
  • Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures, buildings and equipment (e.g., walls, floors, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g., sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.). 
  • Landscaping and grounds keeping, operate vehicles, Bobcat, mowers, weed whackers, blowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers and pruning saws. Providing proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and other grounds. 
  • Participates in a wide variety of seasonal and special-event preparation including setting up training rooms, board rooms, after hour meetings and early morning food pickups. Cleaning up after such events and returning rooms to previous furniture setups. 
  • Participates in Department on-call and after-hour requirements.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspect related work by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for carpentry projects. 
  • Manages secondary subcontractors – trades. (i.e.: Electrical / Plumbing / HVAC) and coordinates activities to meet project schedule.
  • Ensures job close outs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Oversees job completion in the absence of the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Maintains appropriate service and repair records and P.O.
  • Researches, purchases and inventories equipment parts and supplies, as needed.
  • Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs, service, and janitorial needs. 
  • Complete all internal Bank training as assigned and required.
  • Adheres to the Bank’s privacy and data security policies including but not limited to safeguarding of sensitive information and complying with relevant regulations to protect non-public information.
  • Exhibits the ability and desire to embrace and enhances the Bank culture.
  • Provides skilled services to all Bank facilities as needed.

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • Janitorial responsibilities would include sweeping, mopping, emptying trash cans, window cleaning, spot cleaning carpets, cleaning and maintaining exterior drive-thru equipment.
  • Keeping cleaning supplies and janitorial supplies stocked for cleaning vendor.
  • Refuel and maintain corporate vehicles.
  • May perform courier/mail clerk duties if coverage is needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May oversee trade crews or team members in training, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of formal apprenticeship program or on-the-job training preferred.
  • Proficiency reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Good understanding of mathematics, measurements, and building codes.

SKILLS

  • Tradesman.
  • Familiarity with all trade tools.
  • Willingness to gain new knowledge and technical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze, and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Basic knowledge of the banking and financial services industry including federal laws and regulations.
