Job Description:

The Facility Services Team is responsible for maintenance, repairs, and small remodeling projects that have been contracted through our Facility Services department.  The Carpenter is responsible for self-performing work as well as leading subcontractors to complete projects as contracted.  The Facility Services Carpenter works primarily in Topeka, Kansas, and the surrounding areas.

Key Areas of Role:

1. 
   Provides management of subcontractors while working alongside them.


2. 
   Self-performs carpentry work according to the contract.


3. 
   Communicates key project information to the Facility Services Team, subcontractors, clients, and owners.


4. 
   Ensures quality compliance through the accurate interpretation of building plans, specifications, and maintenance instructions. Producing quality work and holding all subcontractors to the same quality standard.


5. 
   Leads multiple small projects at once.


6. 
   Leads all aspects of the Company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating a commitment to an injury-free environment through their behaviors.


7. 
   Hold all subcontractors accountable to MCP’s safety standards.

Required Skills:                                                          

1. 
   Knowledge to read and interpret plans, specs, safety regulations, maintenance instructions, etc.


2. 3+ years’ carpentry experience, including but not limited to drywall finishing and millwork installation.


3. 
   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


4. 
   Must be self-sufficient.


5. 
   Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, and overnights.


6. 
   Procore experience is preferred.
