Description

Day in The Life

· Procurement, carrier sourcing, negotiate and track shipments. 

· Establish and maintain carrier relationships to leverage the freight spend for the needs of our customers. 

· Manage and prioritize tracking.

· Sell broker services via phone (minimum of 40 outbound calls).

· Negotiate carrier rates.

· Manage a healthy relationship between client, carrier, shipper, and receiver.

· Emergency contact person for after hours. (It is a rotation) 

· The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned.  

Requirements

Education/Work Experience

· High School Diploma or GED preferred. 

· 2-3 years logistics experience.

· Completion of postsecondary education is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

· Self-Starter and highly motivated. 

· Ability to multi-task.

· Attentive to detail and deadlines. 

· Can work independently or with a team.

· Organized in a fast-paced work environment. 

· Strong PC, phone skills and excellent customer service skills.

Cover consistent freight with repeat carriers

Carrier development of a regular carrier base

Carrier negotiation of best possible rate

Prospecting new carriers
