The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for managing and maintaining day-to-day relationships with carriers as part of end-to-end load booking process.
Key Responsibilities:
Focus on building new relationships with carrier partners.
Focus on maintaining existing relationships with carrier partners.
Manage the carrier partners that you have secured during your time in the industry as you introduce new relationships to your portfolio.
Sharpen your negotiation and service skills alongside your team and manager.
Emphasize service – you will be measured on KPIs like on-time performance
Be able to build and provide carrier rate confirmations at an efficient rate
Prepare bids on lanes if requested by manager / team
Develop and research pipeline of potential carriers based on customer needs.
Provide customer service and support by frequently and proactively engaging with customers and carriers to identify needs, to address any potential issues, and to deepen work relationships
Implement and oversee the use of logistics software or transportation management systems to streamline operations and to be able to track shipments in real-time, if necessary
Analyze logistics performance data and reports to identify trends, to resolve issues, and to improve efficiency.
Provide carriers with all required information, including, but not limited to: rate confirmation, BOL requirements, and Macropoint.
Obtain from carriers required information, including: dispatch, drivers, cell numbers, truck number, trailer number, location, ETA, and empty/unloaded information
Ability to set payment terms with carriers.
Ensure compliance with all logistics-related regulations and standards, including safety policies.
Develop contingency plans to address potential logistics disruptions and execute recovery strategies in case of actual disruptions.
Provide backup support for other team members as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred
At least 2 years of logistics, supply chain management, or account management experience preferred
Previous industry experience preferred
