Description

The Case Manager at Joplin Elder Law plays a vital role in supporting attorneys by

managing clients’ administrative and legal needs, primarily in estate planning and

related matters. Responsibilities include preparing drafts of legal documents,

coordinating appointments and document signings, and serving as the first point of

contact for visitors and callers. The position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented,

can work independently with minimal supervision, and is comfortable interacting with

clients both in person and by phone.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Estate Planning Document Draft Preparation

  • Utilize firm-provided online software to prepare drafts for trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney (DPOAs), deeds, probate, and trust administration documents.
  • Review and audit all drafts for accuracy before submitting them to the attorney for final review and approval. 
  • Send finalized drafts to clients for review and incorporate revisions as requested, with attorney approval.

2. Final Signing Appointment Coordination

  • Confirm final signing appointments with clients, including date, time, and any special instructions.
  • Coordinate with the Client Administration Manager at the Springfield, Missouri headquarters to ensure all final documents are printed and ready for signing.
  • Serve as a witness during final signing appointments, as required.

3. Client Reception and Office Support

  • Provide a warm, professional first impression to clients and visitors who come into the office.
  • Greet and assist clients upon arrival for scheduled appointments.
  • Assist walk-in potential clients by answering basic questions and helping with scheduling appointments with attorneys.

4. Scheduling and Client Communication

  • Assist the Scheduling Coordinator in setting appointments for current and potential clients with Joplin Elder Law attorneys.
  • Answer client phone calls and in-person inquiries, provide information within the scope of the role, and route questions appropriately.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a legal, estate planning, or professional office setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable using computer-based software and systems.
