Case Manager- Del Rio

Summary:

The case manager provides general counseling for clients seeking assistance with food and clothing including referral services and case management to help client transition out of crisis and develop self-sufficiency. The case manager will also help with incoming donations of food and clothing, stocking the store, providing services, data entry of units and demographics information. At times, they will help the Program Director communicate with potential donors regarding donated items and planned deliveries. If needed, the case manager will assist with picking up donations. The case manager, when needed, will serve as emergency/humanitarian response point of contact for Catholic Charities at the Del Rio Regional Office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• *Responsible for being lead intake to assist clients seeking food and clothing with referrals and resources.
• *Interview clients experiencing financial and material crisis.
• *Evaluate client’s needs for assistance and makes appropriate decisions and referrals based on client’s goals.
• *Provide support with walking clients through pantry, bagging food/clothing and restocking shelves as needed.
• *Establish eligibility of client based on existing guidelines. 
• *Assist with enrolling eligible clients with SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, and TANF as applicable.
• *Compile statistical data for monthly and yearly reports.
• *Compile data on outcomes using pre/post assessment surveys with clients.
• *Attend meetings or trainings. 
• May be asked to assist receptionist with telephone and/or directing clients for services.
• Assist with training and direct approved volunteers on tasks that need to be done in Food Pantry/Clothes Closet.
• Enter all intake assessments into database and train qualified volunteers on database for assistance.
• Communicate with potential donors regarding items to be donated, as well as planned delivery of said items.
• Work with clients and staff to ensure the proper processing of donations.
• Respond to inquiries, phone calls, and e-mails in a timely and responsive manner.
• Exercise discretion regarding acceptance and/or disposition of donated goods and maintains donor relationship through attentive customer service. 
• Complete donation paperwork for donors. 
• Serve as emergency/humanitarian response point of contact for Catholic Charities, Del Rio Regional Office.
• Coordinate preparedness activities related to emergency response, including donations management, creating a stockpile of emergency response kits, and building capacity to deliver humanitarian aid.
• Serve as liaison between Catholic Charities, Del Rio Regional Office and other emergency/humanitarian response agencies, coalitions, and stakeholders.
• Work with general populations and special populations, including immigrants.
• Participate in staff meetings onsite, including all staff meetings, and selected Development team meetings. 
• Complete weekly schedule and submit timesheets in a timely manner.
• Must ensure the completion of all required professional development assignments in a timely manner for their direct reports.
• Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner
• Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and take precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, and others.  
• Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Education
  • GED or High School Diploma
• Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in case management, customer service, or related field
• License and Credentials
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver license
  • Valid vehicle insurance
  • Fluent in English and Spanish preferred
  • Able to pass a criminal background check

Minimum Knowledge and Skills: 

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in case management or related field
• Experience with computer software and Microsoft Home Office (i.e., Word and Excel software preferred); 
• A solid grasp of customer service and de-escalation techniques
• Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
• Must have good written and verbal skills;
• Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Travel requirements for the position includes 0% local and 0% overnight.
