Job Overview:
We are the preeminent Birth Injury firm in the Southeast.We represent mothers and babies. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Case Manager/Paralegal. A strong sense of commitment to do good in the world is required.
As a Case Manager, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and managing intakes/potential clients in a busy law firm. This is a critical role that requires strong organizational skills.
The main duties associated with this role will be:
· Receiving incoming calls and emails from potential clients and following up to obtain additional information as necessary;
· Coordinating with our legal nurse consultants for their input and assessment of medical issues in potential cases;
· Requesting medical records pertinent to potential cases and following up on medical records requests to ensure potential case file is complete prior to attorney review;
· Coordinating review of potential cases with expert physicians and scheduling calls for attorney(s) to discuss potential cases with experts;
· Collating information from nurse consultants, experts, and attorney(s), and maintaining potential case files in an organized manner.
The most important quality required for a candidate to be successful in this position is excellent organizational skills. This position will involve managing incoming cases from the first phone call through the point of the firm making a decision as to whether or not to pursue the case. This process involves many moving parts and input from various team members as well as outside consulting experts. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience managing complex files and coordinating communications with various stakeholders.
