About Us:

Wettermark Keith is a rapidly growing national personal injury firm. We pride ourselves on our integrity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. At Wettermark Keith, we understand that our work extends far beyond the courtroom. We engage with people during some of the most challenging times of their lives – moments filled with uncertainty, fear, and stress. Our clients come to us in the aftermath of tragic accidents, seeking not just legal representation, but a beacon of hope for their future.

Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Case Manager to join our personal injury law firm’s Social Security Department. The Case Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth management of social security cases, working closely with attorneys, clients, and various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a proven track record of managing complex cases efficiently.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Birmingham office.  Compensation for this role includes a competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience, a discretionary bonus, and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Case Intake and Evaluation: Conduct initial case reviews and assessments, gather relevant information and documentation, and evaluate the potential for a successful personal injury claim.

  • Client Communication: Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients throughout the case process, providing updates on case status, answering questions, and addressing concerns.

  • Case Management: Coordinate with attorneys and support staff to ensure all aspects of the case are handled efficiently and effectively, including scheduling appointments, organizing case files, and maintaining accurate records.

  • Document Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents for hearings as well as drafting correspondence and other case-related materials.

  • Medical Coordination: Obtain medical records, coordinate medical appointments and treatments, and communicate with healthcare providers to ensure all necessary information is collected and documented.

  • Insurance Communication: Liaise with insurance companies and adjusters to gather information, negotiate settlements, and ensure proper handling of claims.

  • Case Monitoring: Regularly review case status and progress, identifying any potential issues or delays and taking appropriate action to address them.

  • Settlement and Closing: Assist in the negotiation of settlements and facilitate the closing of cases, ensuring that all required documentation is completed and clients receive their compensation.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance standards, maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to professional best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in case management, preferably within a personal injury law firm.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, attorneys, insurance representatives, and healthcare providers.

  • Familiarity with legal terminology and personal injury law, as well as experience with case management software and other relevant technologies.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

  • A self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving abilities.
