Cash Application Specialist

Working under the supervision of the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Cash Application Specialist is responsible for manually reviewing all remittance from customers, matching the payments to the appropriate invoices to make sure payment has been received, and preparing and submitting monthly contractor invoicing.

Specific duties may include:

1. Utilizes the Excel Monthly Accounts Receivable (A/R) to act as a backup and confirmation of A/R in accounting systems as well as a tool for distribution to the team to facilitate remittance processing and ensuring that all service-related invoices are properly finalized; confirms within online financial software program the successful payment of service-related invoices and forecasting of end of year service invoices to be uploaded prior to 12-31-XXXX for final years’ end accounting;
2. Processes and reconciles accounts receivables and remittances;
3. Provides reporting, both scheduled and ad hoc, associated with the state of all receivables including aging as well as forecasts associated with moves, adds and changes (MACs) to the Accounts Receivable Manager; 
4. Creates and maintains master database of all received remittance files before distribution;
5. Works with the Accounts Receivable Manager and the billing team, identifying, discussing, and addressing post-billing adjustments and changes associated with the billing process and processing them in a timely manner;
6. Reconciles all billed services with Adjudicated Claims remittance advice documentation on a weekly basis, including assessing both primary and miscellaneous DDA (Department of Disability and Aging), SE ECF (Supported Employment Employment Community First CHOICES), DCS (Department of Children's Services) and MCO (Managed Care Organizations) deposits to accounting programs; 
7. Engages in collection management processes, as necessary;
8. Monitors payment processes to ensure accuracy in accounts receivables including anticipating review of the accounts receivable process during the annual Yellowbook audit;
9. Identifies, recommends, and/or develops new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the billing process as needed;
10. Other duties may be assigned as circumstances warrant.

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field preferred.
2. Prior experience in accounts receivable and cash application preferred.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of Netsuite preferred.
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 
5. Attention to detail is mandatory with this position.
