Cash Application Specialist

MGC is an industry leading civil litigation firm celebrating 31 years of excellence spanning 22 offices across 12 states.

We are seeking an experienced Cash Applications Specialist for our Columbia, SC office. Candidates should be professional, motivated, organized and possess exceptional oral and written communication skills. Accounting experience in a law firm environment is preferred, but not required. This position would be based out of our Columbia office with flexibility regarding a hybrid/remote schedule after a 90-day training period.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Posting of all deposit types (checks, wires, credit card & lockbox)


• Cancel & move cash receipts


• Process credit card payments


• Assist Senior CA Specialist with special projects


• Pull back-up as needed


• Assist Accounting team as needed


• Cooperate with co-workers


• Respond politely to internal customers, clients and vendors, etc.


• Work as a member of a team


• Accept change in a positive manner


• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Experience/Education:

• High school diploma required. College degree preferred.


• 1-3 years related administrative support experience preferred.

Special Skills/Knowledge, Abilities:        

• Possess excellent listening skills, verbal and written communication skills.


• Possess excellent organizational skills, and pay close attention to detail.


• Must be able to read and write in English and use arithmetic skills accurately to complete required daily projects.


• Must possess ability to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently under minimal supervision.


• Must also have ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
