Cash Applications Specialist

Reports To (Supervisor/Hiring Manager Title): Assistant Treasurer

Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Onsite 100%

Position Overview/Job Description: Responsible for managing the process of applying incoming payments to customer accounts. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, resolving payment discrepancies, and maintaining effective communication with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

• Enter, post, and reconcile incoming cash receipts including wire transfers, ACH credits, and check and lockbox deposits.

• Researching and resolving customer account issues.

• Researching and reconciling open AR credits/refunds.

• Communicate all A/R, collections or credit concerns to the Senior Cash Application Analyst.

• Collaborate with the Accounting Department to properly classify non-AR cash remittances in the general ledger.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience handling high-volume accounts receivable and cash application functions preferred, but not required.

• Proven data entry proficiency with attention to detail and strong typing skills.

• Experience with accounting or other data entry software and a high level of computer literacy.

• Trucking industry and/or freight brokerage experience preferred, but not required

• Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously under high pressure and within demanding time constraints.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills both written and oral with members of the organization and outside of the organization.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent preferred.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $22/hr. - $25/hr., depending on experience.
