River Market Community Co-op is hiring a Full Time Cashier!

Experience-based pay ranging from: $16.50 - $18.25 per hour

Weekend availability required. Candidates without availability to work on Saturday and Sunday will not be considered.

River Market Community Co-op is also seeking an experienced retail or grocery cashier who possesses leadership skills and experience for a Manager on Duty role. Have you held titles like Keyholder, Shift Lead, Supervisor, or taken on leadership or supervisory responsibilities at your previous retail or grocery cashiering jobs? Union position

Reports to: Customer Service Manager

Job Duties:

  • Provides prompt, friendly, courteous customer service, accurate cashiering cash handling, store security and smooth store operations
  • Committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers
  • Sanitizes, cleans, stocks, faces and organizes register area when customers are not present

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A desire to serve customers with kindness and grace.
  • Basic arithmetic proficiency including counting, addition and subtraction
  • Experience with POS systems preferred
  • Experience with and knowledge of natural foods preferred
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
  • Work weekends and evenings on a regular basis

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: Must be physically able to occasionally grasp, grip, pull, push, twist, and turn as needed.

Constant (67-100%): Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting/reaching waist to shoulder, talking, hearing, correctable vision including near acuity and depth perception

Frequent (34-66%): Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds floor to waist

Occasional (1-33%): Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds floor to waist, lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance floor to waist, lifting/reaching above the shoulder

Approximately 5% of the time: Administrative Duties & Sitting
