Cashier Position @ The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts

The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is seeking cashier staff for employment. Their responsibilities include providing exemplary service to Hobby Center patrons and enforcing theater policies at all Hobby Center events. Preferred candidates will have experience in customer service and cash handling. Knowledge and/or experience in event venues are a plus.

Candidates should possess an above and beyond work ethic, be a natural leader with an exemplary professional demeanor. In addition, outstanding customer service, organizational management, and communication skills to ensure an exceptional guest experience at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts are required. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Collects cash and other forms of payments (vouchers, credit cards) for parking fees


• Balances revenues to cashier reports, report any discrepancies (lost tickets, gate malfunctions, cash shortages/overages)


• Able to effectively communicate directions and instructions to patrons regarding parking and guidance


• Respond to customer questions and complaints in a prompt and helpful manner


• Adhere to all company cash handling procedures


• Have a reliable form of transportation


• Some job duties require outdoor activity

Knowledge and skills

• Requires ability to manage cash, calculate correct change and work cooperatively and courteously.


• Ability to communicate verbally to provide customer service


• Basic mathematical skills are required. Reconciliation, multiplication, division, etc.


• Ability to exert light physical effort, typically involving lifting and carrying.


• Ability to work diligently and effectively in stressful situations.


• Bilingual is a plus


• Computer and software skills will be utilized.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
