Job Description - Casing & Crating Transformer Assembler - 1st Shift

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Casing \u0026 Crating Transformer Assembler - 1st Shift. \n\nThe hours for this role are 6am - 2:30pm\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $19.00 per hour.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\nEaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton\u0027s plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nJob Summary \nResponsible for performing the final assembly operations of electricity transformers according to prescribed standard methods and procedures. \n \nJob Responsibilities \n\u2022 Perform tasks across various work centers, including: Tank-up, casing, small parts, vacuum chamber, cover bander, palletizing, and final assembly. \n\u2022 Attach and install critical component parts and sub-assemblies to transformer tanks (e.g., leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, bands, etc.). \n\u2022 Anchor core/coil assemblies into tanks, ensuring precision and quality. \n\u2022 Execute various hand assembly, fitting, and adjusting operations with meticulous attention to detail. \n\u2022 Retrieve, assemble, and securely attach covers, maintaining consistent standards. \n\u2022 Conduct temperature checks, install and inspect components, initiate and troubleshoot leak checks, repair leaking units, and perform fluid checks to ensure proper oil use. \n\u2022 Load, operate, and unload the vacuum system efficiently. \n\u2022 Use small power hand tools as required, demonstrating proficiency and safety awareness. \n\u2022 Follow written communications, including operating instructions (VOP), BOM lists, production schedules, and WSRA. \n\u2022 Expertly rework nonconforming parts and products to meet quality standards. \n\u2022 Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility. \n\u2022 Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization. \n\u2022 Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals. \n\u2022 Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures. \n\u2022 Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nYears and area of experience required \n\n\u2022 1 year of Relevant experience preferred.\n\nTechnical knowledge \n\n\u2022 Ability to perform basic mathematical functions as required. \n\nPhysical Requirements \n\nLift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations.\n\nEnvironmental Factors \n\nAdhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined below: \nHand/Arm \nGloves \nOver the Elbow Sleeves \nEye/Face \nSafety Glasses \nEar \nEar plugs \nFoot \nSteel Toe \nMetatarsal Guards \nWork efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises.\n\n## Skills:\n\nSoft skills \n\n\u2022 Demonstrates effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive work ethic, comprehends written and verbal work instructions accurately, and upholds Eaton\u2019s Values and philosophy.\n\n#IND123\n\n#IND456\n\n#LI-KM1\n\n#LI-RR2\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
