Beside Bardenay is seeking an ambitious and self-motivated Catering Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ordering, prepping and managing food service for a variety of events with different menus and group sizes. This is a great opportunity for someone with flexible availability and exceptional organizational and time management skills who takes pride in delivering high-quality food and possible menu development. The successful candidate will work well with a small team and ensure great quality of service and product. 

General Responsibilities:

• Order, prep and manage food service for a variety of events
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality food
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of events
• Possible menu development
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Comply with food safety regulations and standards

Requirements

Job Qualifications

Experience/ Knowledge:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in catering or food service.
• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills. 
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Previous prep or line cook experience. 

Skills/Aptitudes:

• Professional communication skills are required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work well with a small team.
• Must have problem-solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized. 
• Passionate about delivering high-quality food.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Ability to comply with food safety regulations and standards.

ADA InformationPhysical Requirements:

• Ability to speak and hear.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Constant standing with some walking.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). 
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds. 
• Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
