Position Summary
The Catering Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all catering events to ensure exceptional guest experiences and profitable operations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, overseeing event logistics from initial inquiry through execution, and collaborating closely with culinary, service, and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison between clients and the catering team from inquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Meet with clients to understand event needs, menus, budgets, timelines, and service expectations.
- Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and event orders.
- Coordinate event logistics including staffing, rentals, transportation, setup, and breakdown.
- Work with culinary leadership to design menus, manage dietary requests, and ensure food quality.
- Schedule, train, and supervise catering staff for events.
- Oversee on-site event execution to ensure service standards, timelines, and guest satisfaction.
- Manage event budgets, pricing, and invoicing to meet revenue and cost goals.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, venues, and preferred partners.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
- Handle client feedback and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
- Track catering sales, forecasts, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience preferred in catering, events, hospitality, or restaurant management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, sales, and customer service skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Experience with catering/event management software and POS systems.
- Knowledge of food, beverage, and service standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
