Job Description - Catering Manager 3






Role Overview






Sodexo is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Catering Manager 3 to lead catering operations at Pittsburg State University, located in PIttsburg, KS. This highly visible position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events across campus, from meetings and student functions to high-profile university events, donor receptions, and athletic hospitality. In addition to overseeing campus catering, the Catering Manager will manage premium hospitality offerings, including suites and special event service within athletic and concession venues, ensuring an exceptional guest experience for every event.  The Catering Manager serves as a primary liaison between clients and operations teams, overseeing event planning, menu coordination, staffing, logistics, and execution. This role works closely with culinary, retail, and concession leadership to deliver seamless service while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and hospitality. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving catering sales, developing strong client relationships, managing event budgets, and ensuring operational excellence across all catered and premium hospitality events. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in enhancing the campus experience while supporting university traditions, athletic events, and community engagement initiatives.

What You'll Do






  • identify customer needs and expectations 
  • ensure that Sodexo and customer goals are aligned and met 
  • educate and develop rapport with clients and promote partnerships 
  • promote a customer/client centered culture that strives to exceed customer and client needs
  • coordinate all unit catering initiatives to drive sales growth and track results
  • maintain and improve service level resulting in increased customer satisfaction 
  • ensure all HAACP standards are followed
  • demonstrate resourcefulness and quick responsiveness to client and customer requests

Qualifications & Requirements






Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
