Requirements

• Operate delivery vehicles to transport center-of-the-plate products to various locations across Vermont.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery times.
• Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring they are handled with care to prevent damage and maintain quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, including routine checks to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Verify the accuracy of delivery orders against invoices and report any discrepancies to the logistics manager.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding delivery operations and safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, management, and customers to ensure smooth delivery operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing any questions or concerns from customers during deliveries.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of self and others on the road.
• Report any vehicle maintenance needs, temperature, or delivery challenges to the appropriate department promptly.
• Process collections of money and credit returns.
• Assist teammate drivers as may be required to meet order fulfillment.
• Driver must be able to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly throughout the day using a 2-wheeler (dolly) loaded with several hundred lbs.,
• Deliveries are made in all weather conditions throughout the year (snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.), and may involve stairs on occasion.
• Must comply with Food Safety Guidelines.
• Avoid roadside inspection violations (which affect PSP and SMS Scores).

 License/Certification Required

• CDL A or B with airbrakes; must have a DOT-certified medical card; must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• 5s Certified.
• Three years clean PSP score (no unsafe driving/hour of service violations).
• Three years clean DMV driving record.
• CDL A- Experience driving a commercial vehicle (box truck and or tractor trailer); experience making deliveries using a 2-wheeler (dolly) and or pallet jack.
• CDL B- Experience operating any vehicle with a GVWR greater than 26,000 pounds, as well as any vehicle towing a trailer that does not exceed a GVWR of 10,000 pounds; experience making deliveries using a 2-wheeler (dolly), and pallet jack.
