Position Overview:  We are seeking a dependable Local Feed Delivery Driver who will be home every night. This role ensures timely and accurate feed deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service. 

Key Responsibilities:

Distribution:

• Deliver feed and related products promptly and cost-effectively.
• Optimize delivery routes with the Feed Operations Manager.
• Maintain an organized loading/unloading system.
• Inspect feed during loading and unloading.
• Ensure feed truck tanks are cleaned before loading.
• Verify all items on sales tickets are correctly loaded and delivered.
• Submit accurate Bulk Feed Delivery Records daily.

Sales and Service:

• Promote and sell feed and related products.
• Inform sales staff of competitive sales opportunities.
• Follow customer instructions for unloading feed.
• Report customer complaints promptly.
• Provide accurate sales tickets and collect payments as needed.
• Make after-hours deliveries when required.
• Observe herd health and assist customers.
• Participate in departmental meetings.

Maintenance and Safety:

• Maintain vehicle according to schedule.
• Keep assigned vehicle clean and presentable.
• Report needed parts or repairs promptly.
• Follow bio-security procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions to the Feed Team Manager.
• Operate vehicle safely and comply with regulations.
• Resolve customer complaints fairly per company policies.
• Maintain required logs and documentation.
• Attend training sessions for continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Education: 

· High school graduate required. 

· Truck driving school graduate a plus

· Experience may be substituted for education

Experience: 

· Previous single axle truck driving required

· Mechanical aptitude desirable

· Ag background a plus

· Good people skills necessary

Other: 

· Must be in good physical condition capable of lifting, carrying and pushing weights up to 100 pounds and have full use of both arms and legs and both hands.

· Must be able to climb stairs, reach above, below and at shoulder level, work on moving machinery, work at unprotected heights with dust, fumes or gas and in temperature extremes both inside and outside.

· Be able to drive vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.

· Must have a valid commercial driver’s license

· Pre-employment and random drug testing required.

· Must attend all training sessions required by law.
