Urgently Hiring!!! We are seeking experienced CDL Operators to join our disaster recovery and debris removal team in Western North Carolina, specifically in areas severely impacted by Hurricane Helena, including Asheville, Burke County, Caldwell County, and nearby mountain regions. Priority consideration will be given to candidates with prior storm recovery experience from major disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Florence (2018), Hurricane Dorian (2019), Hurricane Isaias (2020), Tropical Storm Fred (2021), Hurricane Ida (2021), Hurricane Ian (2022), and similar events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate CDL-class vehicles including grapple trucks, skid steers, and bucket trucks in disaster recovery environments.
- Load, transport, and unload storm debris and materials from designated zones to staging or disposal sites.
- Navigate difficult terrain, including rural mountain roads and heavily damaged storm areas.
- Maintain safety standards and follow all local, state, and federal DOT regulations.
- Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL (Class A or B) license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience, especially in storm or disaster recovery.
- Must be familiar with operating grapple trucks, skid steers, and bucket trucks.
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, in physically demanding and fast-paced conditions.
- Must be located in or willing to travel to Asheville, Burke County, Caldwell County, or other Hurricane Helena-impacted areas in North Carolina.
- Prior disaster recovery experience (e.g., Katrina, Harvey, Irma, Florence) is highly preferred.
