CDL Tri-Axle Driver

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and dependable CDL Tri-Axle Driver to join our construction and paving team. This role is crucial to ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials such as asphalt, gravel, and other construction-related products to various job sites. The Tri-Axle Driver will play a key part in supporting our paving operations by ensuring that materials are delivered on time and in excellent condition for paving projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a tri-axle truck to transport asphalt, gravel, crushed stone, and other materials to construction and paving sites.


• Ensure timely delivery of materials to the designated job sites, supporting the paving team’s needs for ongoing construction projects.


• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring they are properly secured for transport and safely unloaded at the destination.


• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operation and compliance with company policies and regulations.


• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations governing CDL drivers, including DOT rules and traffic laws.


• Work closely with the project team and dispatch to ensure material deliveries are coordinated with the daily work schedule and project deadlines.


• Ensure materials are delivered without damage or loss, and report any damage or accidents immediately.


• Maintain accurate delivery logs, including timesheets, material quantities, and any incidents or issues.


• Follow all safety protocols when operating equipment and working around construction zones.


• Communicate with other team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any delivery issues.


• Assist in routine maintenance and inspection of the truck, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and equipment functionality.


• Follow all safety guidelines and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) on job sites.


• Provide high-quality customer service when interacting with clients and construction personnel at job sites.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience driving a tri-axle truck in a construction or paving environment.


• Experience in transporting and delivering asphalt, aggregates, or other construction materials is preferred.


• Knowledge of DOT regulations and a clean driving record.


• Strong understanding of construction and paving processes.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with loading/unloading materials when needed.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and be part of a team.


• Strong problem-solving skills to address delivery issues and challenges on the job.


• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
