CDL Truck Driver

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Local CDL Driver to haul wood chips from our manufacturing facility to designated locations within the state of NC. This is a local route position — drivers are home daily and operate within a set regional area. 

• Operate commercial tractor-trailer or chip van safely and efficiently to transport wood chips. 
• Load and unload trailers using automated systems or designated loading equipment (in coordination with site operators). 
• Inspect vehicle before and after trips; perform basic maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly. 
• Ensure that loads are properly secured and comply with DOT regulations and weight limits. 
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, and fuel. 
• Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and mill personnel.
• Follow all safety guidelines and comply with company, state, and federal transportation regulations. 
• Keep trucks clean, organized, and in good working condition

Required Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class A (MANUAL) license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience; wood chip or bulk material hauling experience a plus. 
• Knowledge of DOT safety regulations and logbook requirements (ELD familiarity required). 
• Ability to drive in various weather and road conditions. 
• Physically fit with ability to climb ladders, open/close hoppers or trailer gates, and inspect trailers. 
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
