We are hiring Class A drivers in the Chattanooga area for an eastern regional dry van fleet that never crosses the Mississippi River. Loads run up and down the East, from the Gulf Coast to the Great Lakes, and you are home every two weeks. Drivers run about 2,000 miles a week and average $1,200 to $1,400, with a $1,000 weekly minimum for the first 3 months solo. New CDL holders train with a paid mentor. Drivers with 6 months or more of recent experience start solo after orientation.
If you want a fleet that stays east, this is it
No long runs to California. No mountain passes out West. You haul dry van freight between the eastern hubs: Atlanta, Nashville, Mobile, Ocala, Greer, Richmond, Harrisburg, Columbus, Detroit, Chicago and more. The roads get familiar, and home is never far.
Pay
The work
Drop and hook, preloads, live loads and live unloads. Day and night dispatch. Weekends are worked, and some holidays when freight needs it. You drive an assigned late-model truck, automatic or 10-speed, about 1.5 years old on average.
How you start
A recruiter calls and reviews your license and record. Orientation takes two days at most, with your hotel covered and your bus ticket paid back, and pays $300 once you are hired. New drivers train 3 to 5 weeks with a mentor, about 200 to 250 hours, at $650 a week. With 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, you go solo after orientation.
Benefits after 30 days
Medical, dental, vision and prescription. 401(k) and employee stock purchase plan. Paid time off. A free online degree for you and one family member. Approved riders and one dog under 40 pounds after training.
