You finished CDL school and you hold the license. What most new drivers lack is a first job that pays them while they learn, then keeps them close to home once they run alone. This seat does both. You train beside a mentor at $850 a week. Then you run solo on western lanes, and your loads normally stay within about three days of the house. Recent graduates from Cottonwood and the Verde Valley are welcome to apply.
The numbers
Your first weeks
Orientation lasts no more than two days, and you are paid $300 for it once you are hired. If you travel by bus, the one-way ticket is reimbursed with a receipt. Then you go on the road with a mentor. You haul real freight on real lanes, and your weekly training check comes the whole time. Nobody hands you a truck on day one and wishes you luck.
Your week as a solo driver
You haul dry van freight across the states west of the Mississippi, including Texas and the open Midwest plains. Runs are normally no more than three days from home. Loads do not go east of the Mississippi, so there is no New York traffic and no East Coast mountain winters. A monthly performance bonus is paid on top of mileage.
Your truck
Mostly late-model Freightliners, about a year and a half old on average. Both automatics and 10-speeds are in the fleet.
Riders and pets
Once training is complete, you may bring one approved dog up to 40 pounds. A rider program is also available for solo drivers.
