Drivers in the Yakima Valley usually have two choices: local work that pays little, or long-haul work that keeps them gone for a month. This fleet sits in between. You run dry van freight across the states west of the Mississippi, average about $1,400 a week, and come home every two weeks. Drivers from Toppenish, Wapato, Sunnyside and the Tri-Cities are hired here, both brand-new CDL holders and drivers with experience.
What you earn
Solo drivers on this fleet average about $1,400 a week on roughly 1,900 miles. A performance bonus can add up to six cents a mile. Stops pay $15, and any unload that is required is paid. New solo drivers also get a $1,000 weekly guarantee for their first three months.

The work
Mostly drop and hook and preloaded trailers, with some live loads and unloads. Lanes cover the Northwest, the Rockies, California and Texas. Winter brings snow in the northern passes, and the fleet plans for it.
