Short runs. That is the whole idea of this fleet. Loads are normally two days or less, freight stays in the eleven western states, and you are home every two weeks. For drivers in Oroville, Chico and the northern Sacramento Valley, it is a way to drive for a living without disappearing for a month at a time. New CDL graduates train with a mentor first. Experienced drivers go straight to their own truck.
Pay, plainly
New to driving?
You train 3 to 5 weeks (200 to 250 hours) beside a mentor and earn $680 every week while you learn. You need a Class A CDL and a completed truck driving school of at least 120 hours. When your mentor signs you off, you get your own truck on the same short western runs.
Already driving?
With 6 months or more of recent experience, you skip training. Your mileage rate is set by verifiable experience, and you can ask for runs past the western states when you want more miles.
How the work goes
Drop and hook, preloaded trailers, and some live loads and unloads. Mountain passes bring some winter driving. Dispatch keeps loads close to home, and you can plan holidays off with your driver leader.
