YMCA OF MEMPHIS AND THE MIDSOUTH CENTER DIRECTOR (NWGC)
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Northwest Gibson County YMCA.

The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is a $40+ million Association with 9 Wellness Centers, 2 Early Learning Centers, 150+ Childcare Before/After School Care locations including a large Nutrition Services Division serving West Tennessee and North Mississippi.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Oversees the daily operations of the Northwest Gibson County YMCA. The Northwest Gibson County YMCA is a full-service Center in Trenton, TN. The Northwest Gibson County YMCA serves approximately 425 units and 1,000 members. The Northwest Gibson County YMCA includes an outdoor pool, wellness area, group exercise area, spin cycle studio, gymnasium, and child watch area.

The Northwest Gibson County YMCA is located in Trenton, TN.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
YMCA LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:
Mission Advancement: Reinforces the Y’s values within the organization and the community. Effectively communicates the benefits and impact of the YMCA’s efforts for all stakeholders. Implements effective systems to develop volunteers at program, fundraising, and policy leadership levels. Secures resources and support for all philanthropic endeavors.
Collaboration: Develops strategies to ensure staff and volunteers reflect the community. Builds and nurtures strategic relationships to enhance support for the YMCA. Serves as a community leader building collaborations based on trust and credibility to advance YMCA mission and goals. Communicates for influence to attain buy-in and support of goals. Operational Effectiveness: Integrates multiple thinking processes to make decisions. Involves members and community in the development of programs and activities. Ensures execution of plans. Institutes sound accounting procedures, investment policies and financial controls. Assigns clear accountability and ensures continuous improvement.
Personal Growth: Fosters a learning environment embracing diverse abilities and approaches. Creates a sense of urgency and positive tension to support change. Anticipates challenges that can sidetrack or derail growth and personal learning. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
WORK SCHEDULE:
Typical hours for this position are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday, though the facility is open seven days a week and may vary per the Y’s demands and hours of operation. Overtime may be required.
