Job Description - Center Manager-Physical Therapy

POSITION SUMMARY: The Center Manager oversees all operations, management, and accountability for the facility daily. They are responsible for the following: patient care, staffing, planning, budgeting, marketing, purchasing equipment and supplies, hiring and training, overseeing all staff, general maintenance, consulting, and overall compliance in conjunction with the Director of Physical Therapy 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The Center Manager is expected to lead, develop, grow, and treat all staff in accordance with our mission and culture.
  • Responsible for building relationships with referral sources, marketing, and local communities.
  • Day-to-day operations of the clinic and assigning someone to cover for them if they are out of the facility.
  • Will be heavily involved in the facility's staffing models, planning, and budgeting.
  • Oversee the purchasing designate related to the pricing and inventory management of all supplies for the facility.
  • Oversee ATCs in the schools or as extenders in the community if applicable.
  • Responsible for reporting key performance indicators such as census, billing, projections, treatment progressions, expenses, and budging.
  • Influencing and managing patient care, chart audits, compliant billing, and coding.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing and contacts HR/Director of Therapy when hiring staff.
  • Conducts and/or assists with the interviewing process of all new hires for the facility.
  • Oversee new hire onboarding and training programs.
  • Maintains regulatory licenses and files for operating the facility.
  • Monitor continuing education and licensing requirements for patient care in the facility.
  • Review staff performance on an annual basis and propose increases and bonuses when appropriate.
  • Supervise clinical, front-desk, and back-office staff in the facility.
  • Influence and manage front desks key performance indicators such as arrival, cancellation, no-show rates, copay collections, and scheduling rates.
  • Oversee in-service programs and new program development and maintain up-to-date treatment protocols and programs.
  • Maintain company policies related to staffing, scheduling, attendance and punctuality, timesheets, dress codes, safety and emergency procedures, and professional licensure in conjunction with our QA programs.
  • Provide necessary staffing for patient care during time off, vacations, and holidays as necessary.
  • Monitor labor expenses, paid time off, overtime, and holiday pay as necessary.
  • Manage and perform incident reports as they occur and communicate with our risk managers.
  • Always be a resource, mentor, and leader to the staff in the facility.
  • Provide patient care and a caseload as applicable.
  • Conduct patient care according to our care model, providing therapy diagnosis and setting goals for each patient.
  • Comply with all HIPAA and Code of Conduct policies for the practice.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate degree from an accredited physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy, or occupational therapy assistant program.
  • Current Pennsylvania physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy, or occupational therapy assistant 3 + years of experience managing an outpatient therapy facility's billing and clinical operations and equivalent experience is desired.
  • CPR certification is required.
