Reports To: Sr. Manager, Learning & Development

* This position will require relocation to Louisville, KY, and will be a field-based role, supporting all of the Central Opco region (KY, IN, IL, OH, IA etc.)

Job Overview:

The Regional Field Trainer supports operational excellence across Long John Silver’s company-operated (OpCo) restaurants and, occasionally, franchise-owned restaurants through hands-on training, coaching, and operational support. This role partners closely with OpCo Operations leadership to ensure restaurant teams are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and standards necessary to deliver strong operational performance, food safety execution, and guest satisfaction.

The Regional Field Trainer plays a critical role in supporting training initiatives, training restaurant certifications, management onboarding, operational transitions, and new restaurant openings across assigned OpCo markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide field-based training and coaching support to OpCo restaurant teams and management.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of newly hired and promoted OpCo managers.
  •  Ensure company operational standards, policies, procedures, and training programs are consistently executed across OpCo restaurants.
  • Conduct training restaurant certifications and support ongoing development of certified training locations.
  • Partner with Area Supervisors and Operations leadership to identify operational and training opportunities within OpCo restaurants.
  • Support OpCo restaurant openings, re-openings, acquisitions, and operational transitions.
  • Assist restaurants in improving execution related to guest experience, food safety, operational standards, and team development.
  • Support FSA/RSA follow-up training and other operational readiness training within OpCo restaurants.
  • Communicate VOC and OSAT performance trends and support action planning to improve guest satisfaction results.
  • Facilitate in-restaurant, classroom, and virtual training sessions as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training materials, teaching plans, and operational support tools for OpCo restaurants.
  • Build strong working relationships with restaurant management teams and OpCo leadership.
  • Travel extensively to support operational and training needs across company-operated markets.
  • Ability to support franchise-owned restaurants as requested/needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • 3–5+ years of restaurant operations, training, or multi-unit leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting company-operated restaurant environments strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety standards, and guest service execution.
  • Strong coaching, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to influence operational performance through training and development.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

Physical Requirements & Travel

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment for extended periods of time.\ Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout restaurant facilities for prolonged periods.
  •  Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
  •  Ability to safely work within kitchen and food preparation areas, including exposure to hot surfaces, slippery floors, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to travel extensively between company-operated restaurant locations, training sites, and corporate meetings.
  •  Frequent travel by automobile and airplane is required, including overnight stays and extended multi-day assignments.
  • Ability to support restaurant openings, operational transitions, certifications, and training initiatives across assigned OpCo markets.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts based on operational needs.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and technology, including laptops, mobile devices, video conferencing platforms, and training systems.Position requires regular on-site presence within OpCo restaurants and training environments.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to travel independently.
  • Ability to travel up to 75–90% of the time based on business needs.
