Provide the hospital with processed materials and equipment ensuring a quality product for patient care by executing established procedures for assembly, packaging, and distribution.
Responsible for distribution of patient care equipment and supplies through requisition system (electronic or manual).
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Certification/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Good customer service skills required.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions and have good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the medical staff.
Some computer experience required.
Organizational and prioritization skills.
Function at high level within a team environment and strive to be a “key player”.
Consistently and favorably demonstrates a solid work ethic, professional image, personal standards, organization, motivation, self-discipline, flexibility and a positive attitude.
The ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written form. The ability to analyze issues and provides feedback with recommendation to the department manager.
Physical Requirements
Occasional prolonged standing and walking.
May be required to place stock on overhead shelves and bins.
Must have good visual acuity and read computer screens and locator information.
Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately inventories and replenishes PAR levels on each patient care area daily. Helps maintain PAR levels established within the department and notifies team leaders or manager when par levels are low in the department.
Fills computer generated requests and delivers daily and on demand. Restocks crash carts to proper par levels after use or whenever the cart has been compromised. Receives supplies from warehouse and outside vendors. Labels patient charge items and distributes to storage areas securing appropriate labeling and storage of items.
Works with the Inventory Control Specialist to ensure that two cycle counts are completed each week in the department to ensure supply counts and inventory remain correct.
Assembles items in code boxes, crash carts, & etc. ensuring the correct number and type of items present following established lists and placing items appropriately to ensure ease of use by the user.
Collects soiled reusable equipment following appropriate transport techniques. Assures that all components of the equipment are present, assembled and ready for use each time the equipment returned. Relocates equipment throughout facility as necessary for patient care.
Properly cleans all equipment received using proper PPE.
Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary.
