Central Supply/Ward Clerk

JOB DESCRIPTION - CENTRAL SUPPLY CLERK

Responsible for maintaining the central supply system, the inventory of items, and dispensing of items as needed.

RESPONSIBLE TO:                 Director of Nursing QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 
   High School graduate or equivalent.
   


2. 
   Knowledgeable of medical supplies and equipment ordering and stocking procedures.
   

1. 
   Must be organized and capable of keeping track of medical supplies··and equipment.
   


2. 
   Must present a professional appearance.
   


3. 
   Pleasant and courteous to supply vendors.
   


4. Able to work with people and various departments.


5. 
   Knowledgeable in using computer based ordering platforms and excel spreadsheets.
   


6. 
   Work independently with little or no supervision.
   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. 
   Able to see, hear, and communicate adequately to complete· all job duties and responsibilities.
   


2. 
   Able to be on feet standing or walking 3-5  hours per day.
   


3. 
   Able to carry out fine motor skills-and manual dexterity.
   


4. 
   Able to lift and position supplies weighing 60-70 lbs. as needed by job.
   


5. 
   Able to bend, stoop, squat, and lift numerous times during the day without fatigue or problem.
   

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    l. Follow the established purchasing guidelines of company and center, i.e., purchase supplies from         contracted vendors, inventory requirements, etc.

    2. Ensure that adequate supplies are on hand to meet the demands of the Nursing department.
