The Centralized Lending Manager is responsible for spearheading sales initiatives and managing operational processes within the Centralized Lending Department. This role involves strategic oversight and development of the sales team to meet sales targets, regulatory standards, and effeciency goals consistent with the company’s values and objectives. The Manager will collaborate with the Director of Consumer Lending and other leaders to implement strategies that enhance productivity and operational efficiencies of Loan Advisors which also leading sales improvement initiatives aligned with strategic business goals.
In addition to sales management, this position will lead consumer and commercial lending operations and servicing. The Manager will oversee the entire loan lifecycle from application to servicing for all consumer loans ensuring compliance with all procedural and regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of speed, quality, and member service. The Manager will oversee basic processing and servicing specific to Commercial loans and work collaboratively with the Director of Commercial Lending to provide support and assist with administrative functions before and after loan closing.
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership and Development:
Coach, inspire, and motivate the Loan Advisors to meet sales targets and Loan Service Clerks to perform post-closing tasks that meet member experience goals.
Manage performance and oversee development initiatives for team members.
Conduct regular one-on-one reviews with Loan Advisors and Loan Service Clerks to build effective communication, understand training needs, and provide insights for improvement.
Direct coaching to enhance motivational and selling skills within the team.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
Develop new or refine existing sales strategies to optimize the loan application process.
Ensure the sales team meets or exceeds all activity standards for prospecting, calls, underwriting, presentations, contracts, and closings.
Implement best practices that deliver operational efficiency and higher sales output.
Maintain accurate records of sales and activity reports for each loan advisor.
Operational Management:
Oversee the entire loan process from closing documentation to post-closing including risk management, audits, and compliance with regulations.
Implement processes and procedures for accurate and quick processing and funding of loans.
Control expenses to meet budget guidelines and adhere to all company policies and ethical codes.
Perform quality checks and assist in resolving complex member problems and complaints.
Collaboration and Compliance:
Collaborate with other organizational leaders in the development of department goals and budgets.
Maintain internal relationships with enabling/supporting partners and third-party relationships for home equity loan referrals.
Participate in strategic planning relating to lending operations and sales.
Provide regular updates and reports to the board, including loan review reports.
Regulatory and Market Awareness:
Stay current on industry trends, governmental regulations, and security updates.
Ensure all team members are informed of operational changes and regulatory requirements.
Additional Duties:
Assist members and employees with all consumer and commercial loan requests and concerns, including closing and post-closing activities.
Delegate responsibilities appropriately within the team with accountability and follow-up.
Participate in managers' meetings and provide operational input for corrections to lending advisors and loan service clerks.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's goals and objectives.
Requirements
Experience
A minimum of three years of experience in a management role within a credit union or other financial institution required
At least three years prior work loan sales and/or processing experience within a credit union or financial institution required
At least three years consumer loan processing and consumer loan servicing experience required
Commercial processing or servicing experience is a plus
Education
Some college coursework required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge/Skills
Strong level of knowledge in consumer loan origination, sales, operations, and regulations and compliance.
Ability to develop and analyze lending reports to track and measure KPI’s.
Proven ability in mentoring and coaching teams in success of attaining goals/objectives.
Ability to make decisions and supervise subordinates effectively.
High level of communication, both oral and written.
Courtesy, tact, confidentiality and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. This work involves personal contact with others inside and outside of the organization, as well as all levels of management.
A broad understanding of business structure and reading basic financial statement information for business’ is a plus
